Hindringham Hall
Hindringham Hall is the most delicious little moated manor house straight out of a story book with its Medieval Moat and Fishponds, working Walled Vegetable Garden, formal and informal borders wrapped around a brick and flint Tudor Hall.
Nine hundred years ago the Moat was built by the Prior of Norwich to enclose farm buildings supplying produce and fish for his table. The Hall within the Moat is Tudor replacing the original mud and wood settlement and has remained largely unaltered since it was built in 1535. The present owners arrived in 1993 and have restored the Fishponds and developed the gardens that you will see today. In 2020 they were shortlisted for the Historic House Garden of the Year Award
Make time to walk round the Medieval Fishponds and take tea in the Café beside the moat, smell the roses, watch the swans, listen to the birdsong and enjoy the peace and beauty of this special place.
