Welcome

The Vegetable Garden is gearing up for action. The first Asparagus have appeared and we are picking Rhubarb and Spinach. Early Potatoes have been chitted and under fleece and Greenhouse grown seedling are being planted out. We are now sowing seeds direct.

The carpet of white from the snowdrops is being replaced by the Pink White and Blue bells but look out for the little white wood anemone- Anemone Nemorosa on the central bed of the Dell.

The earliest Daffodils are going over (do feel free to dead head) but with over 40 varieties some still have their day to come. They flower over 4 months and can be scented, white /yellow or combinations of the two/double/ large trumpet/single/multi headed etc

The white flowering shrubs in that area are Amelanchier or Snowy Mespilus and the beautiful fragile blossom is out on the Weeping Pear either side of the Bog Garden path.

Hellibores are still looking good in the Water Garden- flowering since Christmas, and the lovely yellow Erythronium Pagoda is in flower.

Clematis Armandii is up against the house and the white Spirea in front is Bridal Wreath.

Life is appearing in the West Lawn and we are busy staking plants before they get too big.

The tulip in the courtyard at the back of the Hall is Ballade and soon Paeonia and pink Lilly of the Valley will join them.

Lots of primroses along the Stream Banks as you walk back to the Pleached Hornbeam and the Coffee Shop.

The Swans are around and tried making a nest in my variegated Water Iris, Muntjac have eaten the heads off tulips in the Water Garden and Orchard and a bird has made a nest in the centre of the Potted Bay Tree is the Herb garden. Room for us all!!!
